Industrial Design Process:
I use a process based on the Stanford d.school method of design thinking and years of my own experience in the industrial design field. This has been derived from my foundation of years of success in the consulting world to working internally within fortune 100 corporate industrial design teams.
Empathize: Observe, Engage, Interact, Immerse, Uncover customer insights.
Define: Use deep insights from the customer empathy phase to create a definition of the product. Frame the problem with a Point of View based on the User, Need and Insight.
Ideate: Wide range of ideas, Explore unexpected ideas, Try to move beyond the obvious, Innovate wherever possible.
Prototype: Another tool for communication, Allows for deeper problem solving and additional conversations.
Test: Refinement of the ideas, Going back to the customer to build further empathy via observation and engagement.
Many of the Images below represent the final manifestation of the design process. To learn more or see the process, in-depth, please feel free to contact me. ~Dennis Terenzio, ZiO Design Studio
